The personal information you provide to Robinson helps us better serve you and enhances your Robinson experience. The protection and proper use of the personal information you entrust to us is a responsibility we take seriously. 

Robinson Helicopter Company, Inc. and its affiliates and subsidiaries (“Robinson,” “Company,”  “we,” “us,” “our”) strive to build and maintain a relationship of trust with you. This Privacy Privacy (the “Policy” or "Notice") describes how we collect, use, and disclose your Personal Information and how to exercise any rights you might have with respect to this information. It governs information we collect through our www.robinsonheli.com website and our microsite(s), mobile website(s), and mobile applications (collectively, “Site(s)”) and information we collect, directly or indirectly, through any other means, including offline activities (collectively, “Services”). 

This Privacy Policy does not govern:

• Personal Information we collect from or about Robinson employees, job applicants, or independent contractors (we provide separate privacy notices to residents of certain states that fall into one or more of these groups).

Please read this Privacy Policy, which is part of our website Terms of Use, before using the Sites. If you do not agree with this Policy, you must refrain from using our Sites or Services. By accessing or using our Sites or Services, you agree to our use of your information consistent with this Policy, subject to your rights described below.

I. ABOUT THIS POLICY

Privacy Policy Changes

This Privacy Policy is subject to change; therefore, we encourage you to review it frequently for any revisions or amendments. Privacy Policy changes we post on this Site are effective immediately and you accept the changes by continuing to use our Sites or Services. 

Conflict Between This Policy and Local Laws and Regulations

When federal, state, or local laws or regulations require a higher level of protection for your Personal Information, they take precedence over this Privacy Policy.

II. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Personal Information

We collect information that personally identifies, relates to, describes, or is capable of being associated with you (“Personal Information”). The types of Personal Information we collect about you will vary based on how you use the Sites and/or Services and your relationship with us, but may include:

• Identifiers such as name, aircraft identification numbers, IP address, social media username or handle, and contact information such as mailing address, airport address, email address, and phone number. We obtain this information from you when you: (1) purchase an aircraft, product or service; (2) register on our website, portals, or applications; and/or (3) interact with Robinson’s support team, field service, and/or training network;
• Characteristics of protected classifications under California or federal law such as age or gender;
• Commercial information relating to your purchases and services, including:
• your purchasing or consuming histories or tendencies, information about your flight training history and records,
• your pilot’s training information,
• information about your aircraft’s maintenance history and warranty, and
• other information relating to your aircraft and flight history collected by the aircraft 
• Internet or other electronic network activity information such as your activity on our Sites, portals, and applications, as well as your interaction with our advertising and other communications, your interactions with our emails, and data collected by cookies and similar technologies;
• Geolocation data such as precise and non-precise geographic location indicators from mobile, web, and vehicle (or product);
• Financial information such as your bank account number, credit card number or other financial information when you purchase an aircraft or other products or services from us.

Preferences and Settings

To personalize your experience with our digital properties, we may ask for and retain records of your choices related to consent and content.

Anonymized Data

We may anonymize, aggregate, or deidentify Personal Information such that we can no longer reasonably associate or link the data, directly or indirectly, with an identifiable person. We refer to this type of data as “Anonymized Data” because it no longer qualifies as Personal Information. We may use and disclose Anonymized Data for any purpose without restriction, to the extent permitted by law. We will not knowingly attempt to reidentify Anonymized Data.

III. HOW WE COLLECT INFORMATION

From You

We may ask you to provide us with Personal Information when you communicate with us online or offline including in connection with servicing, events, surveys, and marketing or promotional programs. You are not required to provide us your Personal Information; however, if you choose not to provide the requested information, you may not be able to use some of the features of the Sites or Services or we may not be able to fulfill your requested interaction. We may also capture your contact information, such as phone numbers and email addresses, when you contact us.

Third-Party Data Sources

We may collect Personal Information from third-party data sources such as marketing agencies and partners, data brokers, analytics firms, government agencies, third-party businesses that provide products or services to our customers, and affiliates not governed by this Privacy Policy.

Dealerships

Robinson and its dealers and service centers are distinct and independently owned and operated legal entities with separate privacy policies and obligations. We may collect Personal Information from dealerships with whom you interact. For example, if you purchase or service an aircraft at a dealership or service center, the dealership/service center may share your Personal Information with us.

IV. COOKIES, ONLINE TRACKING, AND TARGETED ADVERTISING

What are Cookies and Tracking Technologies?

“Cookie(s)” is a blanket term used to describe several kinds of technology that are used on websites for a variety of purposes. In general, a cookie is a small piece of information that a website places on a user’s computer. We use first-party cookies to improve user experience on our Sites. When a user visits one of our Sites, it may ask their browser to store a cookie on their device to remember information about them such as identifying their computer and browser, language preference, or login information.  We also use third-party cookies. These are from a different website domain and they support our advertising and marketing efforts.

We may also use “tracking pixels” and “clear gifs” to track user activity. Tracking pixels are pieces of executable code embedded in a web page that track usage activity including which pages users view, when users view them, and how long users view them. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with unique identifiers embedded in web pages and email messages that track whether a user views a particular web page or email message. We or third parties may associate user activity information with additional information about a user’s session or other Personal Information about the user, if available.

Cookies may make your browsing experience better. However, you may prefer to disable cookies on our Sites and on others. Details follow in this section about cookies and how you can manage them.

Site Performance and Analytics

We and third parties use cookies and other tracking technologies to enhance your user experience and analyze performance and traffic on our Sites. The information collected might relate to you, your preferences, or your device, and is used to provide expected web functionality and to deliver a more personalized web experience. Cookies help us understand the way consumers use our Sites and to measure the performance of the Sites and their features.

These cookies are unique to your device or your browser. Session-based cookies last only while your browser is open and are automatically deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies last until you or your browser delete them or until they expire. Many browsers default to accepting cookies. You may be able to change this setting in your browser and you can also clear the cookies. If you do so, you may lose functionality on our Sites. Targeted Advertising

Advertisers may collect and use information about your use of the Sites or Services as well as other websites and services through cookies and other online tracking technologies. Our Privacy Policy does not govern how an Advertiser may use your information after they collect it from you. Advertisements may be shown via the Sites or on third-party websites.

Social Media Features

The Sites and Robinson’s other digital footprints may include social media features, such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Snapchat, X, and YouTube widgets. The third parties that provide these features may collect information about your device (such as IP address) and the pages you visit on our Sites as well as other Personal Information. A cookie may be set to ensure that a feature properly functions. Your interactions with the social media features are governed by the privacy policies of the companies that provide them and you should review the relevant privacy policies before interacting with the social media features.

Referring Websites

You should review the privacy policy of any website from which you reached the Sites to determine what information was collected by that website and for what purpose(s) you agreed that website could use that information. We may retain information about you provided to us by other websites and will only use it in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Cookie Categories

The cookies and uses described above fall into the following four categories:

• Strictly Necessary Cookies: These cookies are necessary for the Sites to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you such as a request for services like setting your privacy preferences, logging in, or filling in forms.
• Performance Cookies: These cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of our Sites. They help us determine which pages are the most and least popular and understand how visitors move around the Sites. Typically, these cookies collect aggregate and/or anonymous information. If you do not allow these cookies, we will not be able to fully assess the performance of our Sites related to your browsing experience.
• Functional Cookies: These cookies enable the Sites to provide enhanced functionality and personalization. They may be set by us or by third party providers whose services we have added to our pages. If you do not allow these cookies, certain features or services may not function properly.

Your preferences are browser specific and if you come back to our Sites from a different device or a different browser on the same device, you will need to apply your preferences for that browser or device as well. • Secure Privacy Icon: You may manage your cookie preferences or withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the privacy settings icon located in the bottom-left corner of our website. • Digital Advertising Alliance: The Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) is an independent nonprofit organization which establishes and enforces responsible privacy practices for relevant digital advertising, while giving consumers information and control over the types of digital advertising they receive. V. HOW WE USE AND SHARE INFORMATION

Robinson may use or share your Personal Information as follows:

• Identifiers – We may use your identifiers to: (1) process and fulfill your purchases; (2) maintain and service your aircraft; (3) send you information by email, postal mail, or telephone, about our products, services, and promotions; and (4) provide you with flight training. We may share your identifiers with authorized dealers, service centers, or flight training providers that provide services to you.
• Internet or similar network activity: We use your network activity to personalize and enhance your experiences when you interact with the Sites and to help us manage and improve our Sites. We do not share this information with third parties.
• Commercial information: We may use commercial information to: (1) maintain and service your aircraft; (2) provide you with flight training; and (3) provide you with other information about the status of your aircraft. We may share this information with authorized dealers, service centers, or flight training providers that provide services to you.
• Geolocation data: We use your aircraft geolocation for internal research and development purposes.
• Financial information: We use financial information you provide to us to process and fulfill your purchases. We share this information with a third-party vendor who processes your payment information.

We may use Personal Information for other business purposes, such as to:

• Provide you with access to and use of our Sites and Services;
• Facilitate or fulfill the information, products, or services you requested;
• Communicate with you about your products, services, or account;
• Market our products to you, including targeted advertising;
• Perform business operations, including the improvement of our products, Sites, and Services; conduct surveys, research, and data analytics, and other normal business activities;
• Facilitate the relationship you have with your independent Robinson dealer or service center;
• Respond to governmental and other legal requests or to comply with applicable laws; and
• Communicate with you about your aircraft warranty or safety information.

We take reasonable steps to ensure that the companies to whom we share your Personal Information are contractually obligated to keep the personal information that we provide to them confidential and to use such information only as we permit.

In addition, where consistent with the laws and regulations of the relevant jurisdiction, Robinson may disclose Personal Information if such disclosure:

• is necessary to prepare, negotiate, or perform a contract with you;
• is needed to respond to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal process or otherwise required by law or the competent governmental or judicial authorities;
• is needed to cooperate with law enforcement, government or regulatory entities, and safety or investigation authorities;
• is necessary to establish or preserve a legal claim or defense;
• is part of a corporate restructuring, sale of assets, merger or divestiture; or
• is necessary to prevent fraud or other illegal activities, such as willful attacks on Robinson’s information technology systems.

Testimonials

If you provide a testimonial, we may post it publicly on our Sites or in other advertising material. By providing a testimonial, you give us permission to use it in any manner and for any purpose, including in marketing and advertising communications.

No Sale of Personal Information

In the preceding 12 months, we have not sold and will not sell any Personal Information to non-affiliated third parties without your consent. We also have not and will not sell the Personal Information of minors under 16 years of age to non-affiliated third parties without affirmative consent.

Retention of Personal Information

Robinson will retain your Personal Information for as long as it is necessary for the purpose(s) for which we obtained the information or where claims are contemplated. Also, please see below regarding an EU resident’s right to erasure under the GDPR.

VI. SECURITY AND OTHER INFORMATION

Security

We recognize the importance of safeguarding the confidentiality of Personal Information from loss, misuse, or alteration. Accordingly, we employ commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect Personal Information from unauthorized access, disclosure, and use. Even with these safeguards, no data transmission over the Internet or other network can be guaranteed 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect information transmitted on or through our Sites or Services, you do so at your own risk.

The Sites may contain links to third party websites including social media platforms. Please be aware that if you access these links, you will be leaving our Sites. We encourage users to read the privacy policies of those sites, as we are not responsible for their content, links, or privacy procedures.

VII. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 16, unless the personal information is submitted with verifiable parental consent. Our website, portals, and applications are not intended for anyone under the age of 16, and no one under the age of 16 may provide information on the website, portals, or applications.

VIII.    GEOGRAPHIC SPECIFIC RIGHTS

If you are a resident of a state that affords you consumer rights governing data usage, you may have additional rights to access and control your Personal Information that we process on our own behalf. Exemptions may apply.

Rights and Choices of California Customers

We provide our California customers with specific rights regarding their Personal Information. The section describes the rights that you have under California law and explains how to exercise those rights.

Right to Know About Personal Information Collected, Used, or Disclosed

You have the right to request that we disclose certain information to you about our collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Information over the past 12 months. Once we receive your request and verify your identity, we will disclose to you: (1) the categories of Personal Information we collected about you; (2) the categories of sources for the Personal Information; (3) our business or commercial purpose for collecting or disclosing that Personal Information; (4) the categories of third parties with whom we shared that Personal Information; and (5) the specific pieces of Personal Information we collected about you in the preceding 12 months.

Right to Delete Personal Information Collected or Maintained

You have the right to request that we delete any of your Personal Information that we collected from you and retained, subject to certain exceptions. Once we receive and confirm your request and verify your identity, we will permanently delete (and direct our service providers to delete) your Personal Information from our records, unless a legal exception to deletion applies. In our response to your request to delete, we will specify the manner in which we have deleted your Personal Information or, if we must deny your deletion request, the basis for this refusal.

Right to Non-Discrimination for Exercise of Privacy Rights

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your rights by: (1) denying you goods or services; (2) charging you different prices or rates for goods or services, including through granting discounts or other benefits, or imposing penalties; (3) providing you a different level or quality of goods or services; or (4) suggest that you may receive a different price or rate for goods or services or a different level or quality of goods or services.

Authorizing an Agent

You may designate an authorized agent to submit your consumer request on your behalf, so long the authorized agent has your written permission to do so and you have taken steps to verify your identity directly with us.

Verifying Your Request

We cannot respond to your request or provide you with Personal Information if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm the Personal Information relates to you. Making a verifiable consumer request does not require you to create an account with us. We will only use Personal Information provided in a verifiable consumer request to verify your identity or authority to make the request. You may only make a verifiable consumer request for access or data portability twice within a 12-month period.

To verify your identity, we ask that you to provide us with the following information when you submit your request: (1) first name; (2) last name; and (3) phone number or email. We will use the above information to verify your identity. Depending on your type of request or the information requested by you, we may require additional information to verify your identity and fulfill your request.

Rights and Choices of EU Data Subjects

Under the GDPR, the use of personal information set forth above is permitted on the basis of the following legal grounds: (1) where you have provided your consent; (2) when necessary to perform our contractual obligations to you; (3) when needed to either comply with our legal obligations or defend any legal claims; (4) when necessary to achieve a legitimate interest, which outweighs any prejudice to your data protection rights; and (5) when necessary protect the vital interests of you or another person. For individuals residing in the EU, it is Robinson’s policy to obtain your consent and permission to share your personal information with our authorized sales, flight training, and maintenance providers for the purposes for which the data was initially collected.

If you reside in the EU, you have the right under the GDPR to: (1) access your personal information; (2) transfer your personal information; (3) request the erasure of your personal information; (4) object to the processing of your personal information; and (5) change your privacy preferences. Third Party Websites and Applications

Robinson’s website, portals, and applications may contain links to websites or applications hosted by third parties. This Privacy Policy only applies to websites, portals, and applications within Robinson’s control and does not apply to any third party sources. Any data collected through third party websites or applications shall be subject to the privacy practices of the third party, and you should review the privacy policies of these third parties prior to sharing any personal information.

Cross-Border Data Transfers

We process information both inside and outside the United States. It is important to know that data protection laws in the United States may not be as strong as those in your country. Where we transfer your personal information from the European Economic Area (“EEA”) to a location outside the EEA, we will only transfer your information if an appropriate level of protection for your personal information is guaranteed, such as where we have contractual obligations to protect or transfer data with certain safeguards in place. To ensure the continued protection of your personal information while in our care, we take appropriate organizational and technical measures. In addition, we may transfer your personal information if one of the legal exceptions for such transfer can be invoked, such as with your consent or in execution of an agreement you have with us.
