COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This is a basic "hands-on" course in the general maintenance
and repair of the R22 and R44 helicopters. A thorough review
and explanation of the R22 and R44 Maintenance Manuals is
provided with emphasis on routine maintenance and repair.
Course is taught in English only. Students not
fluent in the English language must provide their own
interpreter.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
The course is only available to licensed Airframe and
Powerplant (A & P) mechanics or engineers.
COURSE DURATION AND SCHEDULE:
Course duration is 8 full days, Monday through Friday,
excluding Saturday and Sunday, and continuing Monday through
Wednesday. (Note: The last day of the course is a full
day.) Some exceptions may be made to accommodate
holidays and special events (please refer to the course schedule).
Instruction commences promptly at 8:00 a.m.
and concludes at approximately 5:30 p.m. each day. Students should arrive at least ten
minutes early each morning to find a seat and get settled
for the day's session. Extra training, if desired by the
student or required by the instructor, is offered at no
charge on the Thursday immediately following the course.
Students not fluent in English are encouraged to arrange
their travel schedule to accommodate extra training should
it be necessary.
CERTIFICATION:
Since all students are licensed technicians, a working
knowledge of aircraft hardware, piston engines,
construction, weight & balance, physics, and electronics is
presumed. Students are encouraged to review subject areas
where they may be weak prior to attending. Students will
be evaluated orally both during morning lecture and
afternoon shop sessions. Afternoon shop sessions will also
be used to evaluate students' practical ("hands-on")
performance. Written exams will be given daily following the
afternoon shop session. Passing grades are required on all
exams. Course attendance alone does not guarantee a
passing a course completion certificate. Once
certified, the A & P mechanic may make repairs or perform
required 100-hour inspections. Annual inspections must be
performed by an Inspection Authorized (IA) mechanic (see
Section 1.003 of RHC Maintenance Manual).
TUITION:
$450.00 per person. Tuition is non-refundable if
cancellation is not received at least 2 weeks prior to the
course date. All other cancellations will be assessed a 10%
processing fee. If rescheduling within 2 weeks of the course
date, an additional 50% tuition is required. No-shows
forfeit their tuition.
ENROLLMENT:
A completed enrollment/registration form, a copy of both
sides of the
attendee's A & P license (or equivalent), a photo I.D. copy,
and tuition must be received by RHC prior to confirmation of
the course date. Enrollment is limited to 15 students per
class, on a first-come first-served basis; therefore,
registration and tuition should be submitted as far in
advance as possible to ensure confirmation. Classes are
subject to cancellation if sufficient registration is not
achieved two weeks prior to the commencement of each
scheduled class. (IMPORTANT: Please do not make travel
