ROBINSON HELICOPTER COMPANY This is the README.TXT file which describes the four price list files that are available on the robinsonheli.com website. This file, and the files that it describes can be located on the web at: http://www.robinsonheli.com/public There are four price list files in this directory, two for the R22 and two for the R44. Each model has one file that is intended for printing, and one for use in converting the price list data onto other systems. The printable files are in PDF format, which can be viewed and printed using the Adobe Acrobat Reader. Acrobat is available free of charge from the Adobe web site at: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep.html The two printable files are: r22price.pdf r44price.pdf The data files are flat-text, tab-delimited datasets. Each line of the file defines the data for one part number, and consists of three fields: part- number, descriptive nomenclature, and the price. These fields are separated from one-another by a tab character (0x09). Each line is terminated by a line-feed character (0x0A). The data files are: R22PriceList.txt R44PriceList.txt When opening either of these files in a browser, it will not look well formated because of the tab setting difference between the original text-editor and your browser. However, either file can be saved on your local drive as a text file (don't try to cut-and-paste). The saved text file can then be opened in either a text-editor or a spreadsheet. In a text-editor set the tab-settings to 1.5, 1.8, and 5 inches (absolute from left margin), and the document will look correct. To open the saved text file into a spreadsheet requires importing. Excel handles this conversion automatically by simply opening the file. Within Excel you can open the file normally (ie File, Open, select file name), and you will receive the 'Text Import Wizard step 1 of 3' popup, where you specify that this file is DELIMITED (the default). In step 2 you tell Excel that it is delimited by TAB characters (default). Finally, step 3 lets you select the format of each column. You should be able to use the default settings for each of these options--in other words, just click-on Next, Next, Finish in the wizard. The spreadsheet will show- up but will look squished together, so you will have to adjust the column widths. Also, you will probably want to set the part-number column to be left-justified, and the price column to be numeric with two decimal places.
